From the Craft Room

Now that my craft room is all cleaned and reorganized I have been inspired to create. I thought I would share a few finished projects with you today.

A few sweet lambs all ready for delivery to Grow with Children's Boutique.

Everyone loves a Superhero.  I think this is one of the cutest Superheros around.  He comes with his own cape, belt, and mask. An additional mask is included to make Superhero playtime extra fun.

The above Superhero was created for the children's boutique.  The one below was a custom order for a customer of the boutique.  A special little boy named RJ will be receiving him for his Birthday.

Two sweet Wee Ones for the Boutique.......

Some fun finger puppets.......

That is what I have been up to.  This coming week will be another busy one as we are hosting our little niece, Emily's first birthday party.  The theme is Elmo and I can't wait to share with you what Emily's mommy and I have been working on.  Check back next week for what I am sure will be lots of pictures :)  Have a great week.

A craft room redo.....

Yes I am still here.  Once again days turn into weeks and weeks into months and I sit here wondering just where did the Summer go?  I have been busy over these past two months and I do have lots to share---there have been vacations, finished projects, family gatherings and lots of fun times.  I guess I should just jump right in and start with my most recent undertaking----a craft room redo.  When I first had the opportunity to  have my own craft room I worked mainly with paper.  Now that my love for fabric has grown(and grown!)  I found that my little room was bursting at the seams with supplies.  I needed to  clean out and make better use of the space I had.  So I began one  morning thinking I would be done by noon.  Here we are a week later and I have just completed the project.  Because I am not using my paper crafting supplies as much, I decided to tuck them away and make my fabric supplies easier to retrieve.

My husband and brother-in-law hung a nice long shelf for me to display my vintage Fisher Price toys giving me more space for storage...
My friend Joyce gave me this wonderful shelf which is perfect for all of my jars of buttons and other little goodies....

I rearranged my desk a bit adding some of my favorite books and pictures......

Now that my room is all clean and reorganized it is time for sewing.

And now that I have tended to my neglected blog I hope you will stop by soon to see what else I have been up to this Summer.......

Vintage Fabric

Anyone who knows me (even the tiniest bit) knows of my love for fabric.  Now some fabrics I have developed an appreciation for but the fabric that really makes me swoon is of the vintage variety.  Many designers have produced reproduction vintage fabric--of which I own yards and yards.  I count it a real treasure however to actually find a truly vintage piece of fabric.  There is just something about the sweet softness of vintage fabric that makes me smile.  Over the past several weeks I have had the opportunity to "treasure hunt" at a few estate sales and flea markets.  I was doing a bit straightening and reorganizing in my sewing room today ---mainly because I almost couldn't find my sewing machine due to the mess :)  I realized that because of my "treasure hunting"  I now have quite a nice collection of vintage fabric.  I thought I would take a minute to share some of my favorites with you.

I really am excited to create something fun with this sweet fabric.  Perhaps a little doll or something using a new pattern I just purchased.  I will keep it a secret so you will have to come back and visit with me again soon :)

Winnie the Pooh

I have always loved Winnie the Pooh--as a little girl and even more now that I am a grown up girl.  I think it is because he reminds me of a simpler time--happy times as a child and friendship.  It brings back memories of lovely summer days playing in the woods across from my home with my best friend.  I have a small collection of vintage Winnie the Pooh books.  I love to look through their pages at the delightful sketches.....
Yesterday I was wondering through our local Marshals just to see what I could find.  I think I may have squealed with joy when I spotted this book.

It is filled with charming photos, sketches, and poems.  It also tells of Pooh's history and just how he and all of his friends came into being.

I had a few more errands to run and my last stop was as Target.  You know to pick up things like laundry soap, paper towels, shampoo, and cleaning products.  Never did I guess that I would find these....

Now I can't imagine that my husband or my son would like to have their dinner served on these but I sure would so I bought one of each just for me :)  My cream of wheat never tasted so good this morning as it did out of this sweet bowl.
As I close this post for today I will leave you with one of my very favorite Pooh quotes

"Are we going to be friends forever" asked Piglet
"Even longer" Pooh answered
--A Milne

Thanks for checking in with me today my "blog friends" .  Hope your day is terrific.
