One of my very favorite vintage treasures are the dainty handkerchiefs from days gone by. I adore everything about these little beauties. Their soft delicate colors, the darling trim that adorns the edges, the charming embroidery--some with initials others with sweet flowers. Even though these little treasures aren't used often in todays world, I still find them to be enchanting. I have purchased many from estate sales and flea markets and my collection still grows. It seemed a shame to keep them hidden from view in their storage boxes. So I came up with the idea to fashion tiny pieces of some of my favorites into soldered charms. I wanted to share a few with you tonight that I just completed for my etsy shop. Each featuring a vintage handkerchief on one side and a sweet sentiment on the other. A nice keepsake from the past.....
Oh my gosh!!! You are KIDDING me! These are so cute it is ridiculous! Totally going on my wish list. What a brilliant idea!

Beutiful charms! I've been working on a batch, but just haven't had the time to solder yet! I'm donating some to an fundraiser auction for a friend with cancer, so I need to get them finished! I've put pieces of lace in some, nothing else, just lace and that's always pretty, too! I agree with Joyce, your charms of yours are PERFECT for Mother's Day gifts! Hugs, Heidi
ReplyDeleteAs the last picture says...SWEET!

ReplyDeleteThank you for your prayers regarding my mom. She had the "cement" procedure done today. It looks good so far. Time will tell.
Take care,

I love vintage hankies. Thanks to my lady friends my collection is also growing. This is such a cute way to display them. I agree, it is a shame to keep them tucked away.

ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful. Are the "surrounds" made by soldering or can you buy these? Thanks or the inspiration.
