Once again time has slipped away from me. How easily that seems to happen these days. A friend asked me this morning if I had given up on my blog----Oh my goodness no---I just need a few more hours in my day. Anyway here is a little up date as to what is going on in my life.Oh I knew having a new puppy would be lots of work but somehow I forgot just how much. What a little fireball she is. In my mind I pictured her laying by my side in my studio as I worked on all of my projects. As it turns out she does love being in my studio however her favorite thing to do is grab hold of the end piece of nicely wound ribbon and run for her life. She is so playful and fun. The house training thing is still a work in progress. Let's just say if you are looking to purchase stock, I would suggest Bounty Paper Towels or Clorox Clean Up Wipes. All of my favorite Somerset Life and scrapbooking magazines have been put on the shelf for now. They have been replaced with puppy training magazines and books on understanding your Beagle. Apparently Sassy wasn't overly excited to see that I was reading all about how to teach her to be a well behaved little girl.........
She has certainly stolen the hearts of our whole family.......
Another exciting event for our family was Alex's Junior Prom. We had been preparing for this for weeks---the new suit, shoes, shirt and tie were all purchased as were the corsage and boutonniere. Finally the day was here.....He looked so handsome it brought tears to my eyes. Could this young man standing beside me actually be my baby boy??
His date was lovely
Alex and Tina attended the prom with a group of friends and we were invited to the home of one of them to take pictures. The had a beautiful yard, the perfect place for photos. They whole group looked so wonderful.
Alex had a great evening. What an exciting time in his life. He has so much to look forward to. I could not be prouder.
OHMYGOODNESS! What a cute puppy! It brings back memories of our "Lady" we once had. She was full of fire, too!
Your son did look so handsome and his date's dress was lovely as well. Those are exciting times when our kids enjoy wonderful things like Prom! XOXO Joni
Mimi, I was thinking of you today, wondering how you are and what you are up to of late. And voila, there was your post telling me exacxtly what I wanted to know! I am thrilled to see your post, and hear all the latest. Puppies and proms, all the wonderful things that happen in the spring time. Your pup is just precious, LOVE the picture of it laying on the pretty afghan blanket. Our Cody has a soft spot for crocheted blankets ever since he was a pup and would curl up in our "blanket corner" on the ones that my mom had made for us. She was going to make one just for him, but never got around to it. We have enough others that he sometimes gets to nap on if one of us is not using it! The prom, such good memories of my own. No proms here at the schools which I think is such a shame. My kids will never know the joy of gown and tuxes, corsages, and all the other fun.
Congratulations to Alex, that is a beautiful photo of the two of you, it brings back memories for me of when our daughter was his age ;) You just have to either watch The Dog Whisperer or get his books, he is amazing and helpful for training. Take the puppy in your studio when it is her nap time, this is how I trained Cooper, and now he is great, he got used to the routine and if he isn't tired he will just play with toys I keep there for him. Good luck, the first few months are rough LOL, but they are worth it :)
OMG, the puppy is adorable...no wonder you were blogging, you were playing all day and good for you. And, Alex looks very handsome...you must be very proud.
I'm know i'm kinda late commenting on this, but just seeing your blog for the first time. Our kids grow up too fast! You just have to love them every minute because it all passes by so quickly. I know how I felt the first time I saw my son all dressed up in a tuxedo, with a beautiful young lady on his arm. " Stop time! I am not ready for this!! My little boy, who used to play with Legos for hours, is now a freshman in college.
About Dandelion Wishes--Why a Dandelion you ask???
As I was contemplating starting my blog and opening my etsy shop, many thoughts swam in my head. What would I write about, what would I sell and what in the world would I call my blog and shop? Oh I had a list of names--which one should I choose? I finally decided on Dandelion Wishes. Why that name you ask? Why a dandelion--they are such a nuisance poking their little yellow heads right out into the beautiful green grass. Then there are those little white seed parachutes floating over my lawn just looking for a place to land and grow more little yellow heads in my beautiful grass. If I would have stopped at that thought I never would have choosen the dandelion to represent my blog. Who want's to be known as a nuisance?? Not me. As I stopped and really looked at the little yellow flower, I discovered that it is really quite beautiful. With it's many petals and it's happy yellow color I found it to be really very cheery. And then the thought struck me. There are many things that come into our lives that at first we consider a nuisance. But if we really stop to think about them, often they can become a thing of beauty--teaching lessons and helping us to grow and mature in our lives. I couldn't think of a better name for my blog and shop. It helps to remind me to stop and see the beauty in all situations, to ask myself what lesson I am to be learning, and how does this situation help me to grow into a better person. I wish that for all of you my friends as well. Thank you for visiting Dandelion Wishes. I hope you enjoy your stay.
