Happy Labor Day

What exactly is the Labor Day holiday all about? When I looked up the meaning of Labor Day on the Internet, it stated that it is a day created by the Labor movement to celebrate all the achievements made by the American workforce for the benefit and well-being of our country. To me, Labor Day is that but oh so much more. A day filled with rest, picnics, family, and parades. It's the symbolic marking of the end of Summer. Wow the end of Summer already. Time to close the swimming pools and get ready for the beauty of Autumn and all the fun activities this new season will bring. On this holiday weekend, I wish you a wonderful time of rest and special memories with your family. Before I close this post for tonight, I thought I would share a few projects that I recently completed for my shop at SweetPeas. I have been working on altering compositions notebooks. I love making these notebooks--a fun and simple project.

These first books were decorated using a delightful stamp set created by a wonderful company called Papertrey ink. The set is called Everyday Button Bits. Just stamp and add buttons---so much fun!!!

This last little book fits perfectly into this sweet bag that my mom created. We have been working on these together for an up and coming craft show. She creates the bags and I decorate the coordinating notebook to fit inside. What a team we are....

She has been busy sewing so look for more of these little cuties in a future post.... Until then Happy Labor Day and Happy creating :)

These are beautiful!!! I love them. I think it is so great that you and your mom can share the same hobby. Will any of these be available in your Etsy shop? Have a great Labor Day!

Your composition books are great! You always have such a good eye for paper matching. You should be the spokesperson for this set of PTI stamps. You've inspired the rest of us in our little group to order them, too! Hard to believe we only have 2 months (from today-YIKES) for our big craft fair. xoxo

Hi Mimi. Thanks for your wonderful comment!! You sound like such a sweet person and I always look forward to your new posts and to reading your comments that you leave for me.

My son is an offensive lineman. He's 6 foot 2 and weighs about 240 lbs. His foot is a size 13. He'll be 17 in November. I look at him sometimes and can't believe that boy was ever in my body!! He weighed 10 lbs. 9 oz. and was 22 inches at birth so we should've known what we were in for!! His first game as a varsity player is tomorrow nite but the weather isn't too promising for today or tomorrow so we'll see how it goes. I will definitely blog about it!!

Have a wonderful day and best of luck to your son for a great and injury-free season!! : )

Mimi, your note books are just toooo cute, I can't pick a favorite cuz they are all so sweet in design. LOVE the buttons, I am definitely a button person and wish that I had started a collection of thenm years ago. Oh well, never too late, eh! I hope that you had a good holiday weekend. No Labor Day weekend here, but we have something similar on the First of May. It is Germany's version. School is back in session here for almost a month already. The kids are settled in, I am not so sure that I am yet. I miss the more relaxed feel of summer. Autumn has arrived a bit though, temps have sunk lower then I would like them to,and some rain and damp has settled in around us. oh-hum, no matter how hard I wish it, summer is disappearing fast. Anyway, hope all is well with you, really do love your notebooks. You HAVE been busy. XOXO, Debby
