I love you "deerly"

As my close friends and definitely my family all know, I have a great fondness for deer.  I think they are one of the most amazing creatures.  I love to see them in the wild and I can spot them no matter what the situation.  A slight twitch of their tails as they wonder through the woods---the gleam of their eyes when caught by the beams of car headlights---their silhouettes atop a hill against the moon lit sky.  Sometimes my family thinks I am seeing things but upon further review they see that I am usually correct.
We had such a beautiful day here in Pittsburgh.  The temperatures actually reached 32 degrees, there was not a snowflake to be seen and the sky was a beautiful shade of blue.  After running a few errands I thought I would take the long route home by way of a local park.  It sure felt great to be out and about.  I just happened to have my camera with me so when I came upon a group of deer enjoying this pretty day I just had to capture their beauty on film......

Sometimes it's the simple things that bring the most pleasure.

It is amazing that they let you be that close to them with out them running off. Usually you never see just one, I have hit any with the car, but I have come close especially during deer season. They are so pretty. Your Missouri Friend

Great pictures Mimi! I love to see the deer too, and am always checking my second floor window to see if they're in the woods below. I think it's a little gift from God when we can see wildlife up close!

That is so true. It is the little things for sure. Where we used to live the deer would come down the mountain and eat the tulips. They loved them! I loved the blooming tulips. It was not a good thing. Mimi

What a wonderful post and pics!! The day my son got his driver's permit we stopped at a fast food place for lunch on the way home and then I took him for a drive around a lake that is near where we live. It was the first time he drove around the lake himself. The area is known for its large deer population. Wouldn't you know it, we stumbled upon a large group of deer and babies. My son stopped the car and stuck some french fries out the window. Do you know a deer came right up to him and took the fries out of his hand?!!!!? I almost passed out with excitement!!! : ) It was the most wonderful thing that could've happened on his first day of driving!! I had to share that story with you because I know you have a big smile on your face right now!!! Have a wonderful day. :)

Your father has taught you well in spoting the deer. Remember the time we were at Maraine State Park and I shouted "look at those big dogs on top of the hill." You all made fun of me for days because they were deer not dogs. Mimi, you are a dear.

I so agree with you! It is the simple things that make me happy too. Our home backs up to acres of woods and we have so many deer in our yard on a regular basis, but we still get excited to see them. They love to stop by our crabapple tree for a snack in the warmer months and we love to watch them in the springtime with their babies. I loved your pictures, thanks for sharing.
