The Newest Member of our Family

It was last December when we got the exciting news...my husband's brother, Stephen and his wife, Kim were expecting their first baby.  Kim's due date was August 24, 2011.  Oh that seemed an eternity to wait. August 24 came and went as we all waited just a little longer. It would be a surprise to everyone (even the new Daddy and Mommy) as to whether we would be adding a little boy or a little girl to our family.  I am so delighted to share that on August 28 at 9:08 pm we welcomed the newest member of our family into the world.

She is amazing and I adore her already.

Of course every new little princess needs a pretty new dress to wear so first thing this morning I hurried off to my favorite baby boutique.  Usually I just do a little looking but today I was finally able to do a little buying :)

A girl can't have a new dress without a new bonnet to match......
When we got the word yesterday that Kim was on her way to the hospital, I sat down at the sewing machine and began creating a  doll just in case our new precious little one would happen to be a girl.  I am so glad that I did---I was able to give Emily this special gift from her Aunt Mimi.

My hope is that every time Emily hugs her she will be reminded just how much I love her....

Welcome to the world sweet Emily. You are a precious blessing to our family.

Your newest family member is precious and will grow so very fast. I love the dolls that you make and I know they will be cherished by those who receive them. Emily Elizabeth will have you all wrapped around her little finger. If she only came a few days earlier, she could have been on my birthday. Have a great day. Your Missouri Friend.

Emily Elizabeth is just so sweet, and I LOVE her name, very feminine and pretty!! My niece's name is Emily too and I have always thought it was such a pretty name. Congratulations to the new parents, and to new Auntie Mimi!! The doll you made for Emily is just precious with its pink deer-design body. Had Emily come a few days earlier she would have arrived on my oldest's birthday of Aug. 25th. Enjoy the new family member and all the hugs and cuddles you will have the chance to give her. ~Debby

There isn't anything like the smell of a new baby, the softness of their skin, their tiny little bodies...I'm sure emily elizabeth will get plenty of lovin' from Aunt Mimi....and a collection of adorable dolls to boot. I love the hair style on this latest one Mimi...and her "deer" outfit...a confection! I knew you'd find something special at Janie and Jack's..it's drool-worthy!

Such a precious miracle is your niece Emily! You bought her a gorgeous frock....I think they should be called 'frocks' when they are worn with 'bonnets', don't you? Emily will be stylin' when they wheel her out of the hospital in her mother's arms.

The doll is adorable!!

Thanks for stopping by my blog; it led me to yours. I'm following now.
