I am sure that you have all heard of the saying "What is one man's trash is another man's treasure". I am living proof that this statement is very true. Yes I have been known to do a "U" turn right in the middle of the street to save a sweet chair from the certain grips of the trash man. I call these rescued items my curbside treasures. Today I added to my collection of these treasures. I was with my husband, my son and my mom--which made it a little tricky to complete the rescue. We were headed off to breakfast and because of the President's Day holiday the garbage men had not made their rounds like they normally would. As we drove and chatted with each other I suddenly gasped---"STOP" out of the corner of my eye I spotted this.....
This amazing vintage crib was set on the curb to await the trash men.
I just could not let that happen. It took a little convincing but Alex said if I was the one to pluck it off the curb and place it in the trunk, he would stop---good deal---the crib headboard was mine. As I was loading the headboard, I also noticed another treasure.....
A vintage wooden highchair in amazing condition. Unforturnaly, there was not room in the car to rescue the chair. Oh well it had to be left behind. Breakfast was yummy and we headed home. But you guessed it, I could not stop thinking about that little chair. To make a long story short--after we dropped off my mom and my son--my wonderful husband agreed to return. I am now the proud owner of a vintage highchair. All in all a great day!!!----breakfast with my family and vintage sweetness (for free) Hope you are having a great day too

you are one lucky girl! :)
How fun for you! Poor Ken has heard me do this many a time.
Lucky for you that the chair was still there. Must have been meant to be.
