Things that made me SMILE today.......

The days seem to be flying by so quickly....sometimes it seems the alarm clock rings at 5:30am and before I know it, time has ticked by and the clock reads 10:00pm. I wonder just were this day has gone. I go about my day doing all of my everyday tasks not really thinking about the day itself. Today I decided to make a conscious effort to appreciate the day. To really be aware of the things throughout the day that brought a smile to my face.
When Emma brought a game with her today and happily announced that we would be playing it together, I realized how long it had been since I played Hi-Ho Cherry-o. Alex and I used to play it all the time together when he was a little boy. Remembering those times made me smile.
As I was walking back from getting the mail, I really took notice of my beautiful peonies, the sweet little rose buds getting ready to bloom, and my front porch which welcomes friends and family. Each in it's own way brought a smile to my day.

The girls and I had such fun with the bubble wands today. It was a bit windy so we just held the wands into the air and let the wind do all the work.

This last series of pictures not only brought a smile to my face but it actually made me laugh out loud. I hope it brings a smile to your day as well............

All that I can say is---It's a good thing she is cute!!!!!

Oh how funny your little puppy is! My dog used to do the same thing with the TP!! I can't understand how they could pull it around the corners without tearing it!! This put a smile on my face today!!

Thanks for sharing your day with us!

She IS cute! I think we all need to slow down and live in the moment a little more. When you get to be my age you look back and wonder where the time went. Your porch is so warm and welcoming. Mimi

Mimi, HI! It was soooo good to see your comment on my friday post!! I often think of you, dear friend. Just as you say, time gets away from one, and I have been noticing it very much of late now that our campground season is in such full swing. The days disappear into nothingness, and I no longer find it so easy to get around to all my favorite people in blogland! Your post was just delightful. I too try to find the things that make me smile in a day, and there are more then one thinks!! Your bubbles with the girls must have been great fun, and that Hi-ho cherry game. Oh I remember playing something very similar here with my kids. It was called "Fruit garden" and you had to collect the different fruits in a tiny basket. I still have that game, and in turn have given a new one to each of my sister's grandkids to play! And as for your puppy, not only cute, but REALLY CUTE!!!! Give her a hug from me, she is just precious! Your post put a smile on my face, Mimi. You should make a "makes me smile" post every week just so we don't all get to looking too grouchy here in blogland!! :-) Delightful from start to finish. have a great weekend, Debby

I just found your blog today and LOVE it. I am from Pittsburgh originally and my family is still there. My daughter just came back from a trip from there, small world :) I love reading about areas that I am familiar with. This picture of your puppy made me smile, I have a similar picture on my blog of our toilet paper mishap.
